Mr. J was employed as a warehouse operative at a distribution depot, where his duties included unloading pallets from lorries and stacking them in the yard. On the day of the incident, while Mr. J was in the process of stacking pallets, the load unexpectedly fell from the forklift truck, striking him on the head and causing him to lose consciousness. Upon arrival at the Accident & Emergency department, it was determined that Mr. J had sustained compression fractures to his spine, necessitating emergency spinal surgery.
Russell & Russell Solicitors were instructed by Mr. J four months before the limitation period, prompting swift action to arrange for him to be examined by specialist surgeons, to assess the full extent of his injuries.
Proceedings were subsequently initiated on Mr. J’s behalf, and a settlement of £85,000.00 was ultimately reached.
