Cost Of Injury – MASIC Foundation Conducts Childbirth Injury Survey

Apr 15, 2024 | Serious Injury

The Personal Injury People

MASIC, the birth injury support foundation, is conducting a survey on the ‘Cost of Birth Injury’ to those who have experienced third-degree or fourth-degree tears (OASI) as a result of childbirth. Working as part of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Birth Trauma, MASIC wants to collect this data to help understand the true cost of OASI injuries.

The questions aim to cover surgical and non-surgical treatments, medical appointments, employment, relationships, legal aspects, and the cost of products and services birth injury victims need to manage their symptoms. It is hoped that valuable data can be collated about these important matters at a time when maternity services are under scrutiny, and there is a strong case to implement changes.

The survey can be accessed here:

The estimated time for completion is 15 minutes. The survey will remain open until the end of April.

All answers given will remain anonymous.
