Faulty Product Compensation

The Claimant in this case was injured by a Cafetiere he had purchased from a Sainsburys store.

As he was cleaning the Cafetiere at home it broke in his hands causing a deep laceration to the base of his thumb resulting in permanent nerve damage.

Originally, our client had sought to pursue his claim without the use of a Solicitor and had attempted to negotiate a settlement directly with Sainsburys who had accepted liability and offered the Claimant £6,000.00 which they contended was their maximum offer.

Our team was approached by the Claimant 3 months prior to expiry of limitation (over 2 years post-accident) for advice on the offer received. Protective Court proceedings were initiated, and the Claimant was sent for examination by a consultant hand surgeon as quickly as possible. The case subsequently settled with the Claimant receiving £32,000.00.
